This document will be the closing capture statement of the Concept Development Phase. Requires customer approval.
Idea
With all the bar codes that are out there, wouldn't it be nice if your camera phone could take a pic of it and look up the bar code on the internet and provide information based on that. They do it in japan. So, the idea is to create this functionality for people here in the US. The information that could be retrieved are things like ratings, reviews, and price comparisons.
High Concept
Get on demand information about a product by just scanning the bar code.

This is to identify what the underlying message will be and how it will be conveyed to the target market.

Anybody with a camera phone.

Competitive Analysis
The only products I know of are in japan. One would have to translate the product for english speaking customers.

Someone that understands how to develop an application for camera phones.
Risk Analysis
This is a very low priority product.
Summary
Information at the tip of your finger. Wouldn't it be nice to just scan a bar code and have things like ratings, reviews, and price comparisons about that product. This is possible if someone would just make it.
