WoW Bot Dev Blog

Due to the limitations of the first interation, I decided to create another version. This one has an added dialog box to manager the actions that can be preformed. I've also updated the lua script to output whether or not the player is on a mount and the status of the spells. The app now makes sure that the spells can be casted when mounted or not. Also, it checks to see if a spell is availible to be cast. There are still a lot of issues with this design, the biggest one being that I can't get all the information out of WoW in an efficient way. Also, the app needs more functionality to support full automation. I'm looking into rule engines and I've started to port Drools to C#.

www.j-a-m.net_projects_wb_img_barcode.jpg Created the first iteration to this project. It curently has two components, the first being the “barcode” that gets created through the lua script and draws it in the WoW interface. Then there is the windows app that does a screen grab and parses the image for the barcode then converts that barcode into data. Based on that data the windows app will send keyboard commands to WoW for things like spell casting. This one is limited in the fact that it doesn't do proper data validation and doesn't use a config file for the actions that can be preformed based on the data.
